NCAA: Notre Dame schedule

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have announced their 2013-14 schedule, their first season of competition in Hockey East.

The regular season opens with a home-and-home with Western Michigan Oct. 11-12. Conference play begins Nov. 1 at Vermont. The Irish will host a Thanksgiving-weekend tournament Nov. 29-30, and also compete in the Frozen Fenway event on Jan. 4 against Boston College at Fenway Park.

Also, looking ahead to 2014-15, the Irish will host the Ice Breaker Tournament at Compton Family Ice Arena, with Minnesota, RPI and Minnesota-Duluth coming to South Bend.
